Driving Tours
Columbia River Gorge Tour
Final plans are in place for the August 22nd BMW Club Columbia Gorge Tour.
If you have not enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Gorge for awhile, this
is your chance. Plus, I have made arrangements for a private tour of the
Bonneville Dam Power House by an Army Corp of Engineers tour guide! Tour
features include:
Starting point: McMenamin's Edgefield Manor
(http://www.mcmenamins.com/index.php?loc=3) where you can enjoy breakfast at
the Black Rabbit Restaurant. We will depart at 9:00 AM.
Cannon Beach Tour -- Register at Motorsport Reg
A very popular tour brought back from the past! Who could forget Dean Shindell and his spectacular BMW M1 during our 2004 Dooger's tour? On Saturday, July 18, 2009 we will be returning. Our route takes us through Vernonia, Mist, and then to Cannon Beach. Dooger's is a great seafood restaurant with a sizable room for us to use.
After lunch, you can go into town and visit the many shops and art galleries. A very enjoyable day, indeed!
Covered Bridges Tour
Final plans are set for the Covered Bridges Tour on June 20th. This is going to be a fun tour thru the Willamette Valley farm country with great scenery, enjoyable roads, with some Oregon history mixed in. We will depart from Salem at 9:30 AM and drive thru the countryside to view 5 historic covered bridges. What a sight they are!
Willamette Valley Winery Tour
One of our most popular tours will occur on Saturday, May 30, 2009. You will have the opportunity to visit several wineries, taste a wide variety of wines, and purchase your favorites. After departing from Murrayhill, our first stop is the Erath Winvery. Their specialties include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, and Riesling.
Touring Event Schedule: 2009
Welcome members to another year of enjoyable touring events. This year, we will emphasize a more relaxed pace, allowing all participants to enjoy our tours through scenic Oregon and Southwest Washington. Six club sponsored tours are scheduled for this year, with two non-club events that you may want to attend. Other events, including socially-oriented events may join our schedule; look at the club website for the latest information.

Silver Lake Tour 2008 - Recap
This year’s Lake tour was greeted with warm (okay more on the HOT) side, in the weather department.
After enduring the Friday afternoon traffic out of Portland, we were greeted with mostly open roads all the way to Bend, OR. After checking into our hotel, we went over to one of Bend’s locally owned Mexican Restaurants for a nice relaxing dinner and fellowship.
Fifth Annual Charity Toy Drive - December 6-7, 2008
Well, FINALLY getting the last of the "logistical stuff" out of the way for our Fifth Annual Toy Drive event! Wow.....5 years already...
This year, we will be donating gifts and charity to the following Charitable organizations:
- Sisters of the Road
- Emanuel Children's Hospital
- Doernbecher Children's Hospital
- Raphael House
- Brandley-Angle House
- KGW TV Channel 8 Great Toy Drive
- Oregon Food Bank
Pacific Coast Tour - Review
One of the most FUN days I have had with the club. This drive which was planned by Cam Scott and revived at the last minute by Eric was a total blast. We however only had 7 cars in total and it was a busy Labor Day Weekend.
Huckleberry Tour - September 20, 2008
This tour takes us out in the back country/back roads of the Washington Cascades in search of the elusive Huckleberry. This is one of the more popular tours that we have every year.
Detailed Information Will Be Available Shortly!
