Firehouse at 711 NE Dekum St, Portland
You will really enjoy this month's dinner!  The restaurant is located in the historic Dekum Firehouse built in 1913.  The building was carefully renovated over a 6 month period, opening last June.  Justin Rideout, owner of the two-story building, constructed Firehouse's tables and banquettes from reclaimed rough-sawn fir. The City of Portland Archives gave them vintage digital images, which they enlarged and hung throughout Firehouse. Renovation revealed the original ceiling beams and brick walls.  The first floor housed the fire engines and horse stable.  We will have a private room upstairs in the former fireman's quarters.

We have found an excellent restaurant for this month's dinner: Five Spice Bistro in Lake Oswego. Gordon recommended this restaurant, and it is a great one! As a seafood and wine bar, the Bistro has a French theme with touches of Asian influence. The restaurant has great ambiance and a warm Pacific Northwest style, with a fireplace and outside terrace that overlooks the lake. We will have a banquet room set aside for us, and they will give us separate checks.

A new restaurant is in town and everyone is talking about it: the Claim Jumper Restaurant in Tualatin! The restaurant has a really cool western theme inside, with huge Douglas Fir log beams, rustic furniture, natural stone, and corrugated tin sheets.

The food is great with a huge variety available, including fish, steaks, chicken, ribs, pizza, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. My first visit to Claim Jumper’s showed that the place was very popular with a high level buzz. Come and enjoy this restaurant, and then you can tell your friends about it!

What better place to fill your hungry body with great food and micro brewed beer than in a former auto body shop? The Deschutes Brewery in Bend, OR transformed an auto body shop in the Pearl District into a large restaurant on May 2nd. This is a highly rated restaurant and brew pub.
