Portland Historic Races celebrates Women in Motorsports

Attention!!  You do not need to be a club member to join us for this event!!

There have been many notable women drivers in the elite history of motorsports racing, form Helle Nice in the 1920s to Janet Guthrie in the 1970s to Danica Patrick today. In the celebration of their skill and resolute determination, the Portland Historic Races has named “Women in Motorsports” as a featured race of this summer’s 32nd annual event. The Portland Historic Races will take place July 11 thru 13 at Portland International Raceway.

The deadline for registration and payment is May 14, 2008.

Sunriver Festival of Cars - Bigger, Better, Yet Still the Same - September 12-14, 2008*

The Sunriver Festival of Cars is set to debut this September, and Northwest car enthusiasts should be sure to be there.

During its 12-year history, the Sunriver Exotic Car Show has become a must-do annual event for an increasing number of car enthusiasts. Lately, we’ve averaged 115 cars on display in the Sunriver Village courtyard, and about 170 persons at the banquet. Spectators have crowded the show every year, leading to shoulder-to-shoulder conditions during the middle of the day.  

Clearly, the event has outgrown its venue, and it is time to take it to a higher level. Not to mention, the show site is slated for redevelopment and we have to move.

4th Annual Toy Drive Recap

This year, we did our toy drive in a more unusual way. Not only did we decorate our cars (Thanks to Kuni for use of their detail area) per what is considered the “Normal” way but this year we actually had a parade float. Complete with Snow and Santa’s Sleigh! Earlier in the year, the diabolical minds in the think tank at the monster garage were kicking around the idea as to what to do for Christmas? Then, an antique Sleigh showed up from out of nowhere and before you knew it, the snow ball (sorry, I just HAD to take that shot) was on the roll!
